The most distinctive feature of this piece is the detailed hand carving present on both main sides. Each face features its own carved composition, with prominent bird-inspired motifs surrounded by leaf, Elephant, foliage and traditional ornamental patterns. The carving is not completely flat—several elements on both sides are slightly raised and projected outward from the wooden body, giving the piece a sculptural, dimensional appearance.

The upper section has a substantial broad, rounded bowl-like form, detailed with multiple horizontal carved lines and grooves running around its surface. A fitted round iron plate with a central pin is positioned inside the upper section, providing a practical surface for styling a suitable pillar candle or decorative object.

Some areas retain a warm natural brown wood tone, while other sections have developed deeper dark brown and almost black aged patches over time. These tonal differences are part of the original aged surface and give the piece its distinctive vintage appearance.

The old wood also retains visible cracks, fine splits and age lines, particularly around the upper rounded section and other areas of the body. The surface displays visible grain, old marks, scratches, worn edges, carving wear and natural irregularities developed through age and previous use.

The upper plate can be styled with a pillar candle, separate plant pot, flower vase, brass idol, small statue, sculpture or decorative object.
