The wooden frame features beautiful hand-carved floral, leaf and traditional geometric detailing, with layered carved borders surrounding the window. Its naturally aged bleached / off-white wood finish highlights the depth of the carving while retaining visible grain, old marks, worn areas and the character of the original wood.
The centre features two original-style aged metal shutters, decorated with raised round metal bosses and traditional metal detailing. A vertical wooden strip with decorative metal studs runs through the centre, adding to its old architectural appearance.
A special feature of this window is that the shutters are functional and can be opened from the back side. The rear construction allows the two shutters to open, preserving the functional character of a traditional window rather than making it purely a fixed decorative panel.
Being an authentic vintage-style architectural piece, the wood and metal naturally display surface variations, aged marks, minor cracks, worn carving, nail marks, weathering, oxidation and patina.
